L'Archicembalo gets great press coverage

L’Archicembalo, the Italian Baroque octet, is now inextricably tied to the Vivaldi Manuscript Collections of Biblioteca Nazionale of Turin - the famous Raccolte Foà and Giordano treasured by musicians all over the world.
Press coverage of the inauguration event was high profile.
“A fascinating concert in Turin”, wrote GRAMOPHONE ONLINE.
“A compelling interpretation of Vivaldi” said music critic Sandro Cappelletto, hosting the Vivaldi Special on his weekly Momus program on RAI RADIO 3, the Italian State broadcaster.
LA STAMPA gave prominence to L’Archicembalo’s simultaneous inauguration of Vivaldi’s manuscript exhibition and of the Vivaldi Festival in Turin.
During the performance, the audience was able to leaf virtually through Vivaldi’s corresponding autograph scores, which were projected on the giant screen behind the artists in the new Vivaldi Auditorium located inside the Biblioteca Nazionale of Turin.

L'Archicembalo heads Vivaldi manuscript exhibition & Festival (April 2017)

The prodigious Italian Baroque octet L’ARCHICEMBALO is honoured to have been chosen by the Vivaldi Manuscript Collections preserved in Turin, which gather 92% of all of the Red Priest’s existing autographs, to open the celebrations of one of the rarest events in Italian culture, namely the exhibition of all of Vivaldi’s original scores held within the Raccolte Foà and Giordano.
It is only the second time in history that the whole of the Vivaldi Manuscripts go on show. To celebrate this momentous event, L’ARCHICEMBALO will play a rich selection of Concertos and Sinfonie for strings and continuo, right there by the Vivaldi treasure trove, on April 5 2017 at 5,30 pm. This inauguration will also coincide with the opening of a three-week music festival completely devoted to Vivaldi under the artistic direction of Maestro Gastòn Fournier-Facio from the Teatro Regio of Turin, in collaboration with the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria all over town.

Trailblazing through the streaming charts: L’Archicembalo’s “electrifying” Vivaldi CD (quoting SÜDWESTRUNDFUNK’s Bettina Winkler) amassed one and a half million clicks in 2016 alone. The top-flight all-Italian Baroque ensemble of seven strings plus harpsichord are off on a ground-breaking effort to complete the yet rarely recorded body of Vivaldi’s Concertos and Sinfonias for strings and continuo.
The first instalment, which was published this year by Tactus - an independent specialist label distributed by Naxos Group - is the perfect fit for the Venetian master.
